Office for Human Research Protections Requests Comments on Proposed Amendment to Expedited Review Category 5

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) is seeking public input on a proposed revision to the categories of research that can be reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) using an expedited review process, which was last updated in 1998. The proposed change aims to clarify the scope of research activities covered by expedited review category 5, including studies involving previously collected materials for non-research purposes.
