EPA Seeks Public Comment on Petition to Cancel Registration of Sodium Cyanide Capsules and Sodium Fluoroacetate

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting public input on a petition from several environmental groups, including Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) and the Sierra Club, to cancel the registration of M-44 sodium cyanide capsules and sodium fluoroacetate, commonly known as 'compound 1080', citing concerns over safety standards under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). The petition and supporting documents are available online at http://www.regulations.gov and http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/reregistration/status.htm.
