Medicare Program: Changes to Hospital Outpatient Payment Systems and CY 2008 Payment Rates

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a final rule with a comment period, revising the Medicare hospital outpatient prospective payment system and setting new payment rates for CY 2008. The changes apply to services provided on or after January 1, 2008, and include updates to the Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) payment system and critical access hospital designations.
