U.S. Government Amends Declaration on Avian Influenza Countermeasures

The U.S. government has amended a 2007 declaration under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act to provide targeted liability protections for pandemic countermeasures related to avian influenza viruses, which are considered at risk of evolving into a pandemic strain capable of infecting humans.
