NMFS Requests Comments on Marine Mammal Permits for Seismic Surveys in U.S. Beaufort Sea

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has received applications from CGGVeritas (Veritas) and Shell Offshore, Inc. (SOI) for permits to disturb marine mammals while conducting seismic surveys in the U.S. Beaufort Sea from February to May 2008. The agency is seeking public input on its plan to issue permits to these companies.
