MMS to Prepare Environmental Assessment for Proposed OCS Oil and Gas Lease Sale 207 in Western Gulf of Mexico

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) is issuing a notice to inform the public that it intends to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for proposed Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Oil and Gas Lease Sale 207 in the Western Gulf of Mexico Planning Area, scheduled for August 2008. This EA is a crucial step in the decision-making process for Lease Sale 207, which was first proposed in 2006 and analyzed in a Final Environmental Impact Statement published in 2007.
