EPA Finds California's Imperial Valley Nonattainment Area Failed to Meet PM-10 Standard by Deadline
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found that the Imperial Valley area in California failed to meet the 24-hour particulate matter (PM-10) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) by the deadline of December 31, 2001. The State of California must now submit a revised plan to reduce PM-10 emissions by at least 5% annually until the area meets the standard.
