Disclosure of Return Information to the Bureau of the Census

The IRS has issued a temporary regulation that adds a new item of return information for disclosure to the Bureau of the Census, primarily for use in the annual Survey of Industrial Research and Development. This regulation provides guidance to IRS personnel and has no impact on taxpayers' tax liabilities.
