DEA Designates Oripavine as Schedule II Controlled Substance

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has designated oripavine, a derivative of thebaine, as a basic class of controlled substance in schedule II of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), following international control under the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.
