EPA Proposes Renewable Fuel Standard Program Regulations
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is required under the Clean Air Act to implement a renewable fuel program, which aims to reduce dependence on foreign petroleum, increase domestic energy sources, and promote a transition away from a petroleum-based economy. The proposed regulations will target refiners, blenders, and importers of gasoline, with the goal of increasing the use of renewable fuels like ethanol and biodiesel.
