U.S. Navy Announces Intent to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Active Sonar Training Exercises

The U.S. Department of the Navy is planning to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the potential environmental effects of active sonar training exercises along the east coast and Gulf of Mexico, as required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations.
