USDA Proposes Expansion of Biobased Product Designation Guidelines for Federal Procurement

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is proposing to expand the guidelines for designating biobased products for Federal procurement to include 10 new items, such as bath and tile cleaners and wood and concrete sealers, and set minimum biobased content requirements for these items. The proposal aims to encourage the use of biobased products in Federal procurement, particularly for items with a purchase price exceeding $10,000.
