EPA Seeks Public Comment on Petition to Revoke Tolerances for Carbaryl
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting public input on a petition from the Washington Toxics Coalition to revoke all tolerances for the pesticide carbaryl, citing concerns over its safety standards under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA). The petition is available for review on the EPA's website, http://www.regulations.gov, and responds to a Notice of Availability for the Carbaryl Interim Reregistration Eligibility Decision (IRED), published on October 27, 2004.
