NMFS Proposes Exempted Fishing Permit for Northeastern U.S. Fisheries

The Assistant Regional Administrator for Sustainable Fisheries, Northeast Region, has made a preliminary determination that an exempted fishing permit application warrants further consideration, proposing to recommend the issuance of an exempted fishing permit for a commercial fishing vessel to conduct restricted fishing operations in the Northeastern United States, with the goal of reducing bycatch of cod and sublegal-sized flounders.
