Administrative Waiver of Coastwise Trade Laws Requested

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) has received a request for a waiver of the U.S.-build requirement of the coastwise laws and is seeking public comment on the potential impact on U.S. vessel builders and businesses using U.S.-flag vessels. The waiver application is available at http://dms.dot.gov/dot/docket/2006-26362, and comments must be submitted by referencing the docket number and vessel name.
