FMCSA Establishes CDL Advisory Committee to Improve CDL Program Effectiveness

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is establishing the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Advisory Committee to study and address impediments to the CDL Program's effectiveness, as mandated by the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). The committee, comprising 15 stakeholders appointed by the Secretary of Transportation, will begin work by the end of 2006.
