CMS Proposes Modifications to Medicare Beneficiary Database (MBD) System

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is proposing to modify the Medicare Beneficiary Database (MBD) system, which processes certain activities associated with the new Part D benefit, including auto-assignment of beneficiaries to Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) or Medicare Advantage plans, in accordance with the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act (MMA) of 2003.
