NRC Announces Intent to Prepare Generic Environmental Impact Statement for Uranium Milling Facilities

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) plans to prepare a Generic Environmental Impact Statement (GEIS) to assess the environmental impacts of uranium recovery at milling facilities using the in-situ leach (ISL) process, as well as alternative methods of uranium recovery.
