Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Amendment to Spent Fuel Storage Cask Regulations

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to update its regulations for spent fuel storage casks, specifically the Holtec International HI-STORM 100 cask system, to include changes related to thermal validation tests, decay heat loads, and fuel assembly weights, in order to ensure compliance with Amendment No. 5 to Certificate of Compliance (CoC) Number 1014.
