NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming Porsche Cars

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has accepted a petition from a group seeking to import 2005-2006 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet passenger cars manufactured before September 1, 2006, that do not meet all federal safety standards, as they are substantially similar to US-certified models and can be modified to comply with regulations.
