Department of State 2025 Civil Monetary Penalties Inflationary Adjustment

The Department of State has issued a final rule to adjust civil monetary penalties (CMP) for regulatory provisions, effective December 2024, based on the Office of Management and Budget's guidance and recent legislation. The revised CMP amounts will apply to penalties assessed on or after the rule's effective date, regardless of the underlying violation date.
