FDA Permits Polydextrose Use in Most Food Products
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending its regulations to allow the safe use of polydextrose as a bulking agent, formulation aid, humectant, and texturizer in various food products, excluding meat, poultry, baby foods, and infant formula. This change comes in response to a petition filed by Danisco USA, Inc.
