U.S. Department of State Updates Passport Records System of Records Notice

The U.S. Department of State has updated its System of Records notice (SORN) as required by the Privacy Act of 1974, establishing new 'routine uses' for sharing passport records outside the Department of State. The updated SORN will allow passport records to be shared with entities such as the Department of Homeland Security, the National Counter-Terrorism Center, and the Department of Justice for various purposes including national defense, law enforcement, and foreign policy activities.
