National Toxicology Program (NTP) Expert Panel to Review Revised Analyses and Proposed Reference Substances for In Vitro Test Methods

The NTP Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICEATM) is hosting a teleconference meeting on September 19, 2005, to evaluate revised accuracy and reliability analyses of four in vitro test methods for detecting ocular corrosives and severe irritants, as well as a revised list of proposed reference substances for validation studies. The meeting will consider the Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability (BCOP) assay, Hen's Egg Test-- Chorion Allantoic Membrane (HET-CAM), Isolated Rabbit Eye (IRE) assay, and Isolated Chicken Eye (ICE) assay.
