Medicare Program; Physicians' Referrals to Health Care Entities With Which They Have Financial Relationships; Exceptions for Certain Electronic Prescribing and Electronic Health Records Arrangements

The proposed rule aims to create exceptions to the physician self-referral prohibition for certain electronic prescribing and electronic health records arrangements, allowing physicians to receive non-monetary remuneration for transmitting electronic prescription drug information and using electronic health records software and related training services.
