US Proposes Relaxation of Pepper Import Regulations from Central American Countries
The US Department of Agriculture is proposing to amend regulations governing the importation of fruits and vegetables to allow certain types of peppers grown in approved production sites in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua to be imported without treatment, subject to trapping, pre-harvest inspection, and shipping procedures to prevent the introduction of quarantine pests.
