EPA Proposes No Further Action on National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Industrial Process Cooling Towers
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking public comments on its decision not to revise the national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from industrial process cooling towers, which were established in 1994 to eliminate the use of chromium-based water treatment chemicals. The EPA will review the standards every 8 years to ensure they remain effective in protecting public health and the environment.
