EPA Proposes Approval of Indiana's Ozone Redesignation Requests

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve Indiana's requests to redesignate two counties, Greene County and Jackson County, from nonattainment areas to attainment areas for the 8-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). This decision is based on three years of air quality monitoring data, and it also includes the approval of Indiana's plans to maintain the 8-hour ozone NAAQS through 2015.
