US Military to Prepare Environmental Impact Statements for Base Realignment Actions

Following the 2005 Base Closure and Realignment Commission's recommendations, the US Department of Defense must now prepare environmental impact statements for realignment actions, as mandated by the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990, which was signed into law after a joint resolution to disapprove the recommendations failed to occur within the statutorily provided time period.
