State of Minnesota to Assume Regulatory Authority Over Byproduct Materials

The State of Minnesota will assume regulatory authority over the possession and use of byproduct material, source material, and special nuclear materials, exempting individuals in Minnesota from certain Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, following an agreement signed by NRC Chairman Dr. Nils J. Diaz and Governor Tim Pawlenty on February 3, 2006, and March 2, 2006, respectively.
