NRC Prepares Draft Environmental Assessment for Ginna Nuclear Power Plant's Power Increase Request
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment for R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, LLC's request to increase the maximum steady state power level at the R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant from 1520 MWt to 1775 MWt, a 16.8% power increase considered an extended power uprate (EPU). The NRC staff has determined that this power increase will not have a significant impact on the human environment, and a 30-day public comment period is open for the Draft Environmental Assessment and finding of no significant impact.
