U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Withdraws Direct Final Rule for NUHOMS HD Cask System

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has withdrawn a direct final rule that would have added the Transnuclear, Inc.'s NUHOMS HD cask system to the list of approved spent fuel storage casks, following significant adverse comments on a proposed rule with the same intent.
