Nuclear Regulatory Commission Denies Petition for Rulemaking on Emergency Planning for Nuclear Power Plants

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has republished its denial of a petition submitted by Mr. Lawrence T. Christian and 3,000 co-signers in 2002, which sought to correct errors and clarify the NRC's position on emergency planning for nuclear power plants, including the protection of day care centers and nursery schools in the Emergency Planning Zone.
