Regulatory Order Imposes Fingerprinting and Background Checks on Holders of Material Licenses for Radioactive Material

The U.S. government has issued an immediate order requiring holders of material licenses to use sealed sources in panoramic and underwater irradiators with a radiation level above 370 terabecquerels to undergo fingerprinting and criminal history records checks for unescorted access to certain radioactive materials, and to modify compensatory measures.
