Tennessee Valley Authority Seeks License Amendment to Increase Nuclear Reactor Power at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has prepared a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate a request by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to increase the maximum thermal power at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN) by 15% for Units 2 and 3, and 20% for Unit 1, from 3458 MWt to 3952 MWt, in accordance with the NRC's position paper on the Boiling-Water Reactor Extended Power Uprate (EPU) Program.
