FAA Proposes Airworthiness Directive for Certain Learjet Models to Replace Spherical Accumulator with Cylindrical One

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed a new airworthiness directive (AD) for specific Learjet models to replace the spherical accumulator in the main hydraulic system with a new cylindrical one, following reports of accumulator failures and fatigue cracks, in order to prevent loss of hydraulic power, damage to the airplane structure, and potential loss of control, as well as injury to people nearby and risk of fire.
