FAA Proposes New Airworthiness Directive for Turbomeca Arriel 1B, 1D, and 1D1 Turboshaft Engines

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing a new airworthiness directive to inspect the 2nd stage nozzle guide vanes (NGV2) of Turbomeca Arriel 1B, 1D, and 1D1 turboshaft engines for wall thickness, following an incident of a fractured turbine blade and uncommanded engine shutdown.
