FAA Proposes New Language for Standard Airworthiness Certification of New Aircraft
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing additional language to its proposal for standard airworthiness certification of new aircraft, which was published in the Federal Register on February 15, 2005. The new language is necessary to comply with the recently enacted Safe, Accountable, Flexible, and Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), and allows individuals to manufacture new aircraft without needing a type certificate or licensing agreement, provided manufacturing began before August 5, 2004.
