FAA Proposes New Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 747-200C, -200F, -400, -400D, and -400F Series Airplanes
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a new airworthiness directive for certain Boeing 747-200C, -200F, -400, -400D, and -400F series airplanes to detect and correct fatigue cracks in the overlapping skin and lap joints of the fuselage, which could compromise the structural integrity of the aircraft. The proposed directive results from fatigue tests and analysis identifying areas prone to fatigue cracks.
