Federal Acquisition Regulation to Implement $1 Coin Act Requirement

The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council have agreed on an interim rule to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation, requiring businesses operating on US-owned premises to accept and dispense $1 coins by January 1, 2008, as mandated by the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005.
