FCC Clarifies TRS Marketing and Call Handling Rules, Threatens Funding for Non-Compliant Providers

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a document clarifying that certain telecommunications relay services (TRS) practices violate TRS rules, and that video relay services (VRS) cannot be used as video remote interpreting services by individuals at the same location. The FCC warns that providers found to be engaging in improper marketing or call handling practices may be ineligible for compensation from the Interstate TRS Fund.
