FAA Proposes Relaxation of Ban on Airborne Cell Phone Use

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing to lift or modify the ban on using 800 MHz cellular handsets on airborne aircraft, aiming to expand air-ground communication options for mobile voice and broadband services.
