FCC Reverses Decision on ASL to Spanish TRS Eligibility

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted petitions for reconsideration of its 2004 TRS Report & Order, allowing translation from American Sign Language (ASL) into Spanish to be considered a telecommunications relay service (TRS) eligible for compensation from the Interstate TRS Fund. This decision aims to improve communication and integration for Spanish-speaking individuals who are deaf.
