FDA Withdraws Guidance on Gamma Irradiation of Blood and Blood Components

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is withdrawing a guidance document issued on March 15, 2000, related to the gamma irradiation of blood and blood components, and is instead moving forward with a pilot program for licensing.
