EPA Grants Deferral for Air Quality Designations in Tennessee and Georgia Areas
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted a deferral of the effective date for nonattainment designations in Hamilton and Meigs Counties, Tennessee, and Catoosa County, Georgia, until September 30, 2005, based on updated modeling analysis demonstrating ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) attainment by December 31, 2007. The area has committed to implementing additional local measures in line with Early Action Compact requirements.
