USDA Forest Service to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Fernow Experimental Forest in West Virginia

The USDA Forest Service plans to document the environmental impacts of proposed research activities at the 4,700-acre Fernow Experimental Forest in Tucker County, West Virginia, with the goal of evaluating the effectiveness of silvicultural tools and developing management guidelines for central Appalachian hardwood forests.
