USDA Establishes Procedures for Lamb Promotion and Research Program Referendum

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has proposed procedures for conducting a referendum among lamb producers to determine whether the Lamb Promotion, Research, and Information Order should be continued, as required by the Commodity Promotion, Research, and Information Act of 1996. The referendum must be held within three years of when assessments began on July 1, 2002, and will be conducted at county Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices.
