VA Proposes Changes to Dependency and Indemnity Compensation Regulations

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is proposing to update its rules for dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) payments to surviving spouses, clarifying the interpretation of similar statutes and making the regulations easier to understand. The proposed changes also address the effect of unfavorable decisions on claims for death benefits by the veteran's survivors.
