VA Revises Debt Collection Regulations, Simplifies Procedures for Collection, Compromise, and Referral of Civil Claims

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has finalized a rule revising its regulations on debt collection, waiving and compromising debts, and delegating authority to regional office committees, with the aim of clarifying and streamlining the process for collecting debts owed to the VA.
