Reinvention of the Sections 514, 515, 516, and 521 Multi-Family Housing Programs

The Rural Housing Service is streamlining its regulations and implementing private sector processes to improve the administration of its Multi-Family Housing programs, including the section 515 Rural Rental Housing loan program, the section 514/516 Farm Labor Housing loan and grant program, and the section 521 Rental Assistance program. This change is part of a broader effort to reengineer its operations, following a proposal published in 2003 and an earlier rule in 2000.
